Obamanation

July 16, 2011

President Obama is exactly where he has wanted to be, all along:  “Presiding over the DEMISE of the United States of America.”

Our pathetic (government-run) public school system and border controls have produced a voting majority that is flat-out ignorant when it comes to economics.  So ignorant that they vote for politicians who make irresponsible promises and self-serving laws that punish Americans who want to make lives for themselves.

Responsibility for one’s own actions is no longer an American trait.

Because it will require that a majority of Americans understand basic economic principles in order to put our country back on track, I have lost the desire to continue posting here.  I hope I am wrong, but all signs point to the end of the road for America.  Sadly, the country’s problems boil down to, in layman’s terms, not knowing how to use a credit card responsibly.  The only solution I see is passing of term limits, a balanced budget amendment, and the FairTax.  It’s as ‘simple’ as that.

No Boss = No Employees

April 4, 2011

“Treating businesses and affluent people as prey, rather than assets, often pays off politically in the short run — and elections are held in the short run.  Killing the goose that lays the golden egg is a viable political strategy.”

Thomas Sowell

When G.E. profits $14 billion and pays no (ZERO) income taxes for the year 2010 something is not right with our tax system.  When “Its extraordinary success is based on an aggressive strategy that mixes fierce lobbying for tax breaks and innovative accounting” the shear foolishness of our current tax code is clearly demonstrated.

Just a couple of years ago in 2008, the U.S. government agreed to insure as much as $139 billion in debt for lending arm G.E. Capital Corp… because it ‘needed’ a government bailout (i.e., YOUR tax dollars).

Small business owners just might find this to be a tough pill to swallow, considering most of them fork over AT LEAST ONE THIRD OF THEIR EARNINGS to the U.S. government.

This is yet another blunt example of why a responsible overhaul of government is necessary to help turn our country around…  namely, implementation of the FairTax.

If you were the person put in charge of figuring out the very best way to collect taxes in order to grow the economy, jobs, and equality among all citizens… what strategy would you take?  Would you search out hundreds of the most revered experts in economics?  People who have spent their careers studying the pros and cons of  different economies throughout the world and the effects that taxation has had on their growth?  Or would you proclaim to know it all and make decisions without their input?  Congress as a whole chooses the latter, because it gives THEM and their beneficiaries (lobbyists) enormous perks.  Check out the credentials of those who endorse the FairTax in this open letter to the President, Congress, and the American people.

If you haven’t read up on the FairTax, do.  Understand this, it is NON PARTISAN.  Democrat, Republican, Republocrat, Libertarican, WHATEVER!  Be weary of the politicians, lobbyists, government-linked corporations, and any other entities with hands in the government trough, when it comes to collection of your tax dollars.  Their self-serving goals depend on you being content to keep do what you are doing.  So just hand over one third, bend over, and take it.

Unless you want to demonstrate that those who earn, know what’s best.

Here  are just four things that the FairTax does, the benefits by no means stop here:

1. It reimburses, in advance, taxes paid up to the U.S. Census-determined poverty level for every CITIZEN of the United States.  So no one pays taxes up to the poverty level.  (Notice, there is no mention of illegal immigrants; they do NOT qualify for this prebate.)

2. Illegal aliens, drug dealers, tax evaders, and bailout recipients… they ALL pay their fair share in taxes… along with all consumers within our borders.  Keep in mind, the FairTax does not remove any government programs (other than the I.R.S.).  The FairTax is simply a new method for collecting tax dollars.

3. The FairTax is a consumption tax.  It replaces the punitive, shady, 50K plus pages of rules and loopholes concerning income taxes, with a simplified tax on consumer goods and services.  You keep EVERYTHING you earn.  Nothing comes out of your check.  You get it all.  And you can invest and save, TAX FREE.

4. Since consumers ultimately pay all business taxes, it makes no sense for businesses to pay taxes to begin with.  And they don’t under the FairTax.  Suddenly, the United States is THE VERY BEST DESTINATION FOR DOING BUSINESS, AND HEADQUARTERING CORPORATIONS, IN THE WORLD. (Read J O B S !) And, since an estimated $11 trillion is currently invested offshore simply to avoid income taxes, most of this money, under the FairTax, will be repatriated.

The choice is yours… Either bend over and let our government and their select beneficiaries run all over you.  Or stand up for your rights.  Keep in mind, it’s your money.  YOU earned it.

“The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

$5 a Gallon Gas in 2012

March 17, 2011

“But instead of producing more oil, what are we doing?

We’re producing less… Unfortunately…high gas prices … tends to increase unemployment, because companies can’t afford to stay in business…
It’s really a disgrace that the world’s largest economy (that of the U.S.) hasn’t figured out over these last years that we would resume demand and need more oil.”

John Hofmeister, an ex-president of Shell Oil

Take a look at the National Debt since Barack Obama was elected President in 2008.  It’s nearly the angle of a rocket taking off:  This man will leave office having allowed the national debt to DOUBLE, with the help of Congress.

Our nationally elected “leaders” have fully demonstrated their ineptitude.  Our kids and grandkids will pay the price for this pathetic leadership.  It seems that no one in the Executive or Legislative branch has the courage, willingness, or ability to pull together a consensus to stop this madness and make tough decisions, because they all want to be re-elected.

VOTERS HAD BEST WAKE-UP AND DEMAND TERM LIMITS!

No Pride, No Principles

February 28, 2011

“In contrast to (past American Presidents) Obama fails to see the United States as an exceptional nation, with a unique role in leading the free world and standing up to tyranny. In his speeches abroad he has frequently found fault with his own country, rather than projecting confidence in American greatness…

…he has adopted an apologetic tone rather than demonstrating faith in America as a shining city upon a hill, a beacon of freedom and liberty.

A leader who lacks pride in his own nation’s historic role as a great liberator simply cannot project strength abroad.

Big Labor, Huge Problem

January 21, 2011

Report: Philadelphia Labor Costs Drive Away Convention Business

The price of union labor at the Pennsylvania Convention Center has cost Philadelphia’s hotel industry 400,000 nights of business between 2007 and 2009, according to a new report that takes a broad look at the center’s operations, management, marketing and business plans. Labor costs were the single biggest reason for the lost business at the center during those years, the report said, with three dozen groups deciding to take their thousands of attendees elsewhere. Ahmeenah Young, convention center president and chief executive, added that the building’s existing labor structure undermines the ability to stay competitive even as the facility readies to double in size with the completion in March of a $786 million expansion.  Philadelphia Inquirer

Who do you believe…

The federal government has accumulated more new debt–$3.22 trillion ($3,220,103,625,307.29)—during the tenure of the 111th Congress than it did during the first 100 Congresses combined, according to official debt figures published by the U.S. Treasury.

That equals $10,429.64 in new debt for each and every one of the 308,745,538 people counted in the United States by the 2010 Census.”

Christmas: Our Gift From God

December 23, 2010

Jesus is the ultimate role model for human behavior.  No other individual on earth has had a more positive impact on the welfare and progression of humanity.  His democratic philosophies and leadership laid the groundwork for the personal freedoms we enjoy today.

Jesus is all about more personal responsibility and less government interference. His teachings are what our country was founded upon.

Merry Christmas!  God Bless America!

Growth tends to be stronger where taxes are lower. Seven of the nine states that do not levy an income tax grew faster than the national average. The other two, South Dakota and New Hampshire, had the fastest growth in their regions, the Midwest and New England.

$44,918 per Citizen in Debt

December 22, 2010

A family of four’s share of the National Debt is $179,672!

Four things must be done to reduce and eliminate this problem:

  1. Raise the level of personal responsibility among citizens (Proper Role Modeling & Education).
  2. Reduce the size and scope of government (Smaller & Balanced Budgets).
  3. Shrink entitlement programs and eliminate fraud (Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare).
  4. Replace our prehistoric income tax system with a competitive consumption tax system (the FairTax).
  5. Enforce our immigration laws (No Free Lunch).

“Oregon raised its income tax on the richest 2% of its residents last year to fix its budget hole, but now the state treasury admits it collected nearly one-third less revenue than the bean counters projected…

Congratulations. Instead of $180 million collected last year from the new tax, the state received $130 million…

If Salem officials want to find where the millionaires went, they might start the search in Texas, the state that leads the nation in job creation—and has a top income and capital gains tax rate 11 percentage points lower than Oregon’s.”

Wall Street Journal “Ducking Higher Taxes”

Voters all over the country went to the polls Tuesday, fired-up to stop the spending madness.  Meanwhile the Fed announced its plans to print $600 Billion dollars out of thin air to “stimulate” the economy.

The Federal Reserve is an obscure entity, which has monumental (and arguably unwarranted) power over our economy.  Yet it manages to slip in a half a trillion dollar move here and a half a trillion dollar move there, without much resistance from Americans.  Why?  Most Americans have no clue what the Federal Reserve does or is!

One thing is certain when you print money out of thin air.  The value of the currency goes down.

A Sign of Stimulus Propaganda

September 16, 2010

“…the Obama administration is using nearly $200 million in taxpayer money to plaster every possible highway with signs touting how stimulus cash is ‘Putting America to Work’ with infrastructure projects…
Today, unemployment stands at 9.6 percent, 14.9 million Americans cannot find work and more than 2.5 million people have lost their jobs since the stimulus became law.”

Resentment of Resentment

August 21, 2010

“There was a time when most Americans would have resented the suggestion that they wanted someone else to pay their bills. But now, envy and resentment have been cultivated to the point where even people who contribute nothing to society feel that they have a right to a “fair share” of what others have produced.

The most dangerous corruption is a corruption of a nation’s soul. That is what this administration is doing.”

Thomas Sowell

In case after case over the past century, Presidents have attempted to raise more tax revenues by raising the tax rates of the wealthiest Americans.  In each case, TAX RECEIPTS DECREASED and created a host of new problems, including “less employment output, sales, profits and capital gains, all leading to LOWER payrolls and LOWER tax receipts.”  Not to mention “higher unemployment, poverty, and lower incomes… require more government spending.”

Federal Stimulus 101

July 9, 2010

“Since late 2007 the federal government has spent somewhere around $3.6 trillion to stimulate the economy.

My suggestion would have been to take all $3.6 trillion and declare a federal tax holiday for 18 months.  No income tax, no corporate profits tax, no capital gains tax, no estate tax, no payroll tax (FICA) either employee or employer, no Medicare or Medicaid taxes, no federal excise taxes, no tariffs, no federal taxes at all…

Can you imagine where employment would be today? How does a 2.5% unemployment rate sound?”

Arthur B. Laffer, Economist

Independence Day, of course!  Washington was not the type to endorse a day named after himself.

“In its highest form, heroes are those rare individuals who exercise physical, moral, and intellectual virtue far beyond the capacity of ordinary men and women. During the time of the American Founding, one hero stood out above all others: George Washington. By his example, the rest of us can see what it means to be courageous, temperate, wise, and just. Washington shows us in his actions, and teaches us in his writings, how to be a self-reliant, self-governing citizen of the freest nation on earth, and he makes clear the lengths to which citizens must be willing to go if they are to defend that freedom.”

Motivation to serve

June 19, 2010

“The big difference between entities that serve us well and those who do not lies in what motivates them….

In the market, when a firm fails to please its customers and fails to earn a profit, it goes bankrupt, making those resources available to another that might do better.  That’s unless government steps in to bail it out.  Bailouts send the message to continue doing a poor job of pleasing customers and husbanding resources.  Government-owned nonprofit entities are immune to the ruthless market discipline of being forced to please customers.  The same can be said of businesses that receive government subsidies.

The ruthlessness of the market discipline, which forces firms to please customers and thereby earn profits, goes a long way toward explaining hostility toward free market capitalism.”

Walter Williams

“The United States, and most of the rest of the developed world, is in need of a tectonic shift in fiscal policy,” said Greenspan, 84, who served at the Fed’s helm from 1987 to 2006. “Incremental change will not be adequate.”

“The federal government is currently saddled with commitments for the next three decades that it will be unable to meet in real terms,” Greenspan said.   The “very severity of the pending crisis and growing analogies to Greece set the stage for a serious response.”

It is a pity that our educational system does not require economics curriculum from grammar school through to high school graduation.  Since our economy is the driving force behind our freedom and way of life, doesn’t it make sense that our school system focus on cultivating an understanding of how economies work?  Apparently not.

A major reason our educational system does not focus on economics is the Democratic Party and Republicans posing as Conservatives would lose support as more people learn the hard facts about big government and politics becomes increasingly transparent.

Here is a simple example:

To curb greenhouse emissions, Democrats are proposing a new energy tax that oil companies will have to pay.  Democrats claim this is not a gas tax and will not negatively impact consumers.  In other words, they claim that this new tax will not result in higher gas prices that consumers will pay.  This is false.  When an industry incurs more expenses, the industry raises prices across the board to pay for them.

Businesses exist to make a profit, and so they compensate for each and every expense by raising prices to cover them. If you tax a business, you are really taxing their customers.

Legacy of Gluttony

May 14, 2010

It is very predictable how future generations will think of the America we are living in today.  Every future American is destined to be saddled with the astronomical debt that we are adding to, exponentially.  This will be a huge weight on their shoulders from birth to death.

How much debt we leave behind for future generations to pay off is a good measure of our character.

This picture pretty well sums up the character that future generations will have in mind:

If you were given the responsibility to overhaul our existing tax system, and turn it into a fair tax system that grows our economy, grows jobs, and strengthens our country… what would you do?

Ideally, you would seek out a bi-partisan team of experts… a group that sets politics completely aside… a group who have spent most of their lives studying economics and the multiple methods of taxation used throughout the world.

This is what some philanthropists in Texas decided to do.  More than $20 million has been invested in the research behind a new fair tax system, which has been dubbed the FairTax.  Purportedly, more money has been spent on the research behind this legislation, than any other legislation in American history.  And economists from over 80 leading universities stand behind it.

The FairTax is a consumption tax system.  No one pays taxes up to the poverty level.  No current government programs are eliminated.  It basically converts our income tax system into a consumption tax system.  The entire system can be explained in about one hundred and twenty pages, as opposed to the 60,000 pages of laws and codes under which we are currently held accountable.

Since a key element to the FairTax is transparency, many politicians and special interest groups are naturally spreading misinformation and fear.  They want you to continue to give them what they want (your earnings) without asking any questions.

Do you believe that our income tax system is strengthening our country?  Are you willing to investigate a system that experts agree will strengthen our country?  There are many powerful people who want you to simply bend over and accept the status quo.

How much servitude to our government are the working men and women of this country willing to tolerate?

The state we are in…

Future prospects for economic liberty…

Optimistic employment projections had Social Security in the red beginning in 2016.

Nope!  It starts now.

The fact that this massive program begins its financial slide the very same year that our government implements a massive healthcare program cannot be ignored.

Our government has placed enormous financial obligations on future generations of workers who will be paying off the debts being created today.

Proposed 28th Amendment

March 24, 2010

NO  ONE  SHOULD  BE  ABOVE  THE  LAW

“Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States.”

76% of Americans believe Congress is more interested in their own careers than in helping people… 64% of Americans believe Congress is doing a poor job… Nancy Pelosi (11% favorability rating) and Harry Reid (8% favorability rating) control Congress… President Obama has a negative 12 approval rating…

Is it any surprise that this group ignored the American public and rammed through self-serving legislation that will impact our country for decades to come?

Americans are shouting at the top of their lungs for Congress to correct problems and not create new ones.  But those in power are not listening and by their actions have clearly demonstrated they could care less.  Big government means big power for these people.  They are doing what they please at our expense and reveling in their power.

It seems apparent that the U.S.A. has reached the point at which those who profit off the government, combined with those who believe that big government and independence can coexist, outnumber those who are educated about basic economics and desire freedom and independence from our government.

As our freedoms further deteriorate, and government becomes more and more a part of our lives, independent- minded Americans will be wise to focus their efforts on education and removing the government from the classroom, where much of the indoctrination takes place.

Tax Revolt 2010

February 25, 2010

If the citizens of our country truly want significant change for the better, we must demand the elimination of our 70,000 pages of federal tax law, which punishes taxpayers, businesses, and our economy year round.  The benefits of a consumption tax system over our income tax system are extraordinary.

Regardless of your political tendencies, learn the facts about the FairTax.  If you are against it and think you know why, rather than jump to conclusions, please read about it.  About 60 members of Congress support it, but most do not primarily because the FairTax makes taxation transparent for all to understand.  And the less we the people understand about the taxes that are taken from us, the more Congress can abuse the system.

Our economy is suffering.  The national debt is out of control.  Our unfunded liabilities are beyond comprehension.  It’s not time to change the tax code.  It’s time to REPLACE the tax code. Check out OnlineTaxRevolt.com and let your voice be heard on April 15th, tax day.

A Literate Voting System

December 31, 2009

In 1975 the U.S. permanently banned literacy tests for voter eligibility based on the view that literacy tests are discriminatory.

In order to vote, one need not know how to read or write (much less have any common sense).  One must simply have the fortitude to be an American citizen and turn eighteen.

This would not be a problem if our school systems were producing a voter majority who understand basic principles concerning government and economics.

When our forefathers established our democracy, they did not envision our fine government requiring over 60,000 pages to explain the variety of ways it is entitled to your money.  The complexity of the system means voters must be much more intelligent today than the average farmer of 200 years ago.   Unfortunately, our schools produce a vastly uneducated populace that continues to vote into office a political class who make promises which either cannot be met or cause other problems that are often worse.

Add in the element that in our two party system, there is only one party that benefits from the underclass that comes out of our public school systems, and we have ourselves a real mess.

“I don’t know if there is a Senator that doesn’t have something in this bill that was important to them…

And if they don’t have something in it important to them, then it doesn’t speak well of them.”

Sen. Harry Reid

Our State of Democracy

December 24, 2009

“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.

The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage.”

-Alexander Titler (1747-1813)

A Naive Entitled World

December 21, 2009

“Never in our memory has so unpopular a bill been on the verge of passing Congress, never has social and economic legislation of this magnitude been forced through on a purely partisan vote, and never has a party exhibited more sheer political willfulness that is reckless even for Washington or had more warning about the consequences of its actions.

…when it passes America will be paying for it for decades to come.”

“Change Nobody Believes In” / Wall Street Journal editorial board

“Economics and politics confront the same fundamental problem: What everyone wants adds up to more than there is.

Market economies deal with this problem by confronting individuals with the costs of producing what they want, and letting those individuals make their own trade-offs when presented with prices that convey those costs. That leads to self-rationing, in the light of each individual’s own circumstances and preferences.

Politics deals with the same problem by making promises that cannot be kept, or which can be kept only by creating other problems that cannot be acknowledged when the promises are made.”

Georgia’s 38,000 high school dropouts in the class of 2007 will cost taxpayers $4.8 billion over their lifetime due to costs associated with incarceration, Medicaid and other government programs, according to a new study released by the Friedman Foundation and the Georgia Public Policy Foundation.

“The trend to six-figure salaries is occurring throughout the federal government, in agencies big and small, high-tech and low-tech.”

“When the recession started, the Transportation Department had only one person earning a salary of $170,000 or more. Eighteen months later, 1,690 employees had salaries above $170,000.”

“The growth in six-figure salaries has pushed the average federal worker’s pay to $71,206, compared with $40,331 in the private sector.”

Politically Correct Mad Lib

November 2, 2009

Quote from Washington Times article by Joseph Curl, concerning the Atlanta, GA mayoral race…

Black mayors have occupied City Hall since 1973, but this year, a white City Council member is leading in the polls, even though two black civic leaders urged black voters to unite against her.”

for FUN, let’s take the same quote and reverse “black” and “white”…

White mayors have occupied City Hall since 1973, but this year, a black City Council member is leading in the polls, even though two white civic leaders urged white voters to unite against her.”

Hmmmm….

Politically Correct Hypocrisy

“The House health care bill unveiled Thursday clocks in at 1,990 pages and about 400,000 words. With an estimated 10-year cost of $894 billion, that comes out to about $2.24 million per word…

…and for those who cry “read the bill,” beware. There are plenty of paragraphs like this one:

“(a) Outpatient Hospitals – (1) In General – Section 1833(t)(3)(C)(iv) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395(t)(3)(C)(iv)) is amended – (A) in the first sentence – (i) by inserting “(which is subject to the productivity adjustment described in subclause (II) of such section)” after “1886(b)(3)(B)(iii); and (ii) by inserting “(but not below 0)” after “reduced”; and (B) in the second sentence, by inserting “and which is subject, beginning with 2010 to the productivity adjustment described in section 1886(b)(3)(B)(iii)(II)”.”

Nearly half of U.S. households – 47 percent, or 71 million of them – will pay no federal income taxes for 2009, according to a study by the Tax Policy Center. Even when federal taxes to fund Social Security and other programs are considered, under current law 24 percent of households either pay no federal tax or actually get money back by virtue of refundable credits like the earned income tax credit.

If you are unsure what modern propaganda looks and sounds like, this video will catch you up to speed.

Why anyone with an ounce of intelligence would make decisions based on what a Hollywood actor tells them is beyond comprehension.  The majority of these people have absolutely no concept of what reality is like for hard working American taxpayers.  But they are quite skilled in looking around and opining on where your tax dollars should be spent.

Apparently, most American voters either do not consider these items important, or they have placed an enormous amount of trust in the mainstream press, who (by choice) failed to bring any significant attention to these items.

The consequences are evident.  What is yet to be seen is whether the general public is intelligent enough to step up to the plate and stop it.

When the government demands the removal of moral teachings from our schools, take a wild guess what happens to the morals of our citizens.

Six minutes well-spent for every American citizen. Please watch…

Freedom of Speech is one of our most important and dearest rights.  We know no other way.  It’s how it has been since our Founding Fathers laid down the laws of our great country many generations ago.

But look around the world, and you’ll see that oppression of the freedom of speech is still very much alive.

Without our dedicated armed forces and the sacrifices they make to protect our freedoms, history teaches us those freedoms would undoubtedly be lost.

EXCERPT:

“Things will never be the same
Our nation’s rush to borrow its way out of debt has more than a few economists worried. And you can bet your Euros it’s our generation that will pay for this mess. The era of “Bad credit? No problem” is over, and the luxuries we’ve taken for granted are slipping away. We’re inheriting incomprehensible debt, unsustainable social programs and leaders who think the way to fix the problem is to keep doing more of the same thing. You and I have to come to terms with the knowledge that more trouble is heading our way, and hiding from it won’t make it disappear.”

Throughout the last Presidential race, this question was often brought up during discussions on the major news networks.

The truthful answer?  Conservatism is only relevant if you desire long-term economic prosperity for our country, its citizens, and future generations.

If you are deep in debt, face growing bills, and decide to go out and obsessively run up a mountain of credit card debt… Does that remove the “relevancy” that economic reality is going to eventually settle in, bankrupt you, ruin your credit, and lessen your quality of life?

How long is it going to take for Americans to wake up to the fact that BUSINESSES DO NOT PAY TAXES.

Washington would like you to believe that Cap-and-Trade will tame American business’ impact on the environment, but what they do not want you to know is that with Cap-and-trade legislation it is YOU, the consumers who shall be punished by an ever-encroaching government.

Consumers will pay significantly more for services as the tax impacts businesses throughout the supply chain… thousands, if not millions of jobs will be lost… there will be less competition in the marketplace… and more businesses will exit our country.

“It is paid for by the polluters who currently emit dangerous carbon emissions,” the President said.

Is Conservatism Dead?

June 27, 2009

Conservatism: A political philosophy based on tradition and social stability, stressing established institutions, and preferring gradual development to abrupt change; specifically such a philosophy calling for lower taxes, limited government regulation of business and investing, a strong national defense, and individual financial responsibility for personal needs.

More appropriate questions are:

“Do Americans understand basic economic principles?”

“Do Americans understand that the government is flat broke without productive workers generating income that is then taxed?”

“Do Americans prefer more government intervention in their personal lives?”

“Do Americans understand that businesses never have and never will pay taxes and that it is consumers who pay for all business taxes?”

“Do Americans understand that every grand idea our government pursues in the name of fairness results in money unfairly taken out of someone else’s pocket?”

“Do Americans look to themselves to thrive, or do they look for a government crutch?”

Conservatism is ignored; yet, a moral, pragmatic philosophy will never die as long as there are free thinkers among us.

Conservatism equates to your conscience telling you not to rack up credit card debt.

“The unifying concept of his domestic policies – their connecting thread – is that they advance the Democrats’ dependency agenda.  The party of government aims to make Americans more equal by making them equally dependent on government for more and more things.”

Since the government is broke without productive workers generating income, and productive workers are necessary for the economy to grow, the logical route is NOT more investment in government.  The logical route is more investment in business.  And the way the government invests more in businesses is by taking less of their money.  That way they can spend that money to grow their business, grow jobs, and grow the economy.

Business owners know far better than government bureaucrats  what it takes to grow their own business (is this not common sense?).  Yet our country imposes one of the highest corporate tax rates on the planet and continues to make policies that punish businesses.  This can be attributed to ignorance and a serious flaw in our educational system.

Most teachers and professors in academia function outside of a competitive business environment, and most have no real sense of what it takes for businesses to grow and therefore grow the economy.  Without that foundation of knowledge, what they are teaching has no tie-in or relevance to maintaining a successful American economy.  So what we are left with is a society full of people who lack practical knowledge about basic economics and what it takes for our economy to grow.  And this fundamental lack of knowledge inevitably leads to poor decisions at the ballot box.

Many liberal politicians are not ignorant of basic economics, but they are keenly aware of the ignorance level of their constituency.  So they say and do whatever benefits their own agenda, with no respect paid to the success of our economy.  Remind you of anyone in particular?

If our country truly wants to fix its economy, here are two powerful long term solutions:

1)  Integrate the teaching of basic economic principles into upper elementary, middle, and high school classes with year round curriculum.

2) Replace the current income tax system, which penalizes productivity and saving, with a consumption tax system, which promotes productivity and saving.  This single overhaul, if done right, will have an enormous positive impact on the U.S. economy and cement our leadership role in the global economy.

Did you know that more money has been spent on the study and formulation of the right approach to a consumption tax, than on any other piece of legislation in American history?  Get to know the FairTax and spread the word.

According to a Gallup poll, 40% of Americans consider themselves “conservative.”

QUESTION:  Where were these “conservatives” on election day?

ANSWER: WITHOUT A CANDIDATE TO VOTE FOR!

From a humane perspective, whether we leave future generations in better economic shape or worse economic shape says a lot about the character and will of the people.

With our country’s spiraling debt and unfunded liabilities, the average American family is now shouldering a tax burden of over $200,000. This is what children in the U.S. are born into, thanks primarily to shortsighted policies that have severe “unintended” consequences..

Congressman Randy Forbes gives Obama a poignant history lesson.

When our F0unding Fathers put together our Constitution and laid out the powers of government, they had in mind a group of self-supported states, which capitalized on their regional strengths to propel their economies forward.  Most power was to rest with the states, and the federal government was to restrict its involvement to matters like interstate transportation and defense.

What our Founding Fathers had in mind is NOT what exists today.  And more and more Americans are realizing our country has ventured way off course.

“Consider this proposition: America of the 21st century, propelled by currents of modernity that tend to favor the little over the big, may trace a long circle back to the original small-government ideas of the American experiment. The present-day American Goliath may turn out to be a freak of a waning age of politics and economics as conducted on a super-sized scale—too large to make any rational sense in an emerging age of personal empowerment that harks back to the era of the yeoman farmer of America’s early days. The society may find blessed new life, as paradoxical as this may sound, in a return to a smaller form.”

“We seem to be moving steadily in the direction of a society where no one is responsible for what he himself did but we are all responsible for what somebody else did, either in the present or in the past.”

The Russian press  makes some painfully accurate assessments here.

As is alluded to in the article, our country’s economic status is in large part a failing of our educational system.

Most Americans do not understand our constitutional rights or basic economics.  So it’s no secret that we elect people who promise to deliver more and better change.  Most Americans are not intelligent enough to understand that grand promises (especially those which require taxpayers money) cannot be delivered without serious consequences.

Sadly, this is no secret to silver-tongued politicians and will forever be an asset to liberals and a thorn in the side of conservatives.

Mr. Obama:

I have had it with you and your administration, sir. Your conduct on your recent trip overseas has convinced me that you are not an adequate representative of the United States of America collectively or of me personally.

You are so obsessed with appeasing the Europeans and the Muslim world that you have abdicated the responsibilities of the President of the United States of America . You are responsible to the citizens of the United States .

You are not responsible to the peoples of any other country on earth. I personally resent that you go around the world apologizing for the United States telling Europeans that we are arrogant and do not care about their status in the world. Sir, what do you think the First World War and the Second World War were all about if not the consideration of the peoples of Europe ? Are you brain dead? What do you think the Marshall Plan was all about?

Do you not understand or know the history of the 20th century? Where do you get off telling a Muslim country that the United States does not consider itself a Christian country? Have you not read the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United States ? This country was founded on Judeo-Christian ethics and the principles governing this country, at least until you came along, come directly from this heritage. Do you not understand this?

Your bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia is an affront to all Americans. Our President does not bow down to anyone, let alone the king of Saudi Arabia . You don’t show Great Britain , our best and one of our oldest allies, the respect they deserve yet you bow down to the king of Saudi Arabia . How dare you, sir! How dare you!

You can’t find the time to visit the graves of our greatest generation because you don’t want to offend the Germans but make time to visit a mosque in Turkey . You offended our dead and every veteran when you give the Germans more respect than the people who saved the German people from themselves. What’s the matter with you?

I am convinced that you and the members of your administration have the historical and intellectual depth of a mud puddle and should be ashamed of yourselves, all of you. You are so self-righteously offended by the big bankers and the American automobile manufacturers yet do nothing about the real thieves in this situation, Mr. Dodd, Mr. Frank, Franklin Raines, Jamie Gorelic, the Fannie Mae bonuses, and the Freddie Mac bonuses. What do you intend to do about them? Anything? I seriously doubt it.

What about the U.S. House members passing out $9.1 million in bonuses to their staff members — on top of the $2.5 million in automatic pay raises that lawmakers gave themselves? I understand the average House aide got a 17% bonus. I took a 5% cut in my pay to save jobs with my employer.

You haven’t said anything about that.. Who authorized that? I surely didn’t! Executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be receiving $210 million in bonuses over an eighteen-month period, that’s $45 million more than the AIG bonuses. In fact, Fannie and Freddie executives have already been awarded $51 million — not a bad take. Who authorized that and why haven’t you expressed your outrage at this group who are largely responsible for the economic mess we have right now.

I resent that you take me and my fellow citizens as brain-dead and not caring about what you idiots do. We are watching what you are doing and we are getting increasingly fed up with all of you. I also want you to know that I personally find just about everything you do and say to be offensive to every one of my sensibilities. I promise you that I will work tirelessly to see that you do not get a chance to spend two terms destroying my beautiful country.

Sincerely,

Every Real American

“I think we’ve been through a period where too many people have been given to understand that if they have a problem, it’s the government’s job to cope with it. ‘I have a problem, I’ll get a grant.’ ‘ I’m homeless, the government must house me.’ They’re casting their problem on society. And you know, there is no such thing as society. There are individual men and women, and there are families. And no government can do anything except through people, and people must look to themselves first. It’s our duty to look after ourselves and then, also, to look after our neighbor. People have got the entitlements too much in mind, without the obligations. There’s no such thing as entitlement, unless someone has first met an obligation.”

Just 53% Say Capitalism Better Than Socialism

Thursday, April 09, 2009

Only 53% of American adults believe capitalism is better than socialism. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 20% disagree and say socialism is better. Twenty-seven percent (27%) are not sure which is better. Adults under 30 are essentially evenly divided: 37% prefer capitalism, 33% socialism, and 30% are undecided. Thirty-somethings are a bit more supportive of the free-enterprise approach with 49% for capitalism and 26% for socialism. Adults over 40 strongly favor capitalism, and just 13% of those older Americans believe socialism is better. Investors by a 5-to-1 margin choose capitalism. As for those who do not invest, 40% say capitalism is better while 25% prefer socialism. There is a partisan gap as well. Republicans – by an 11-to-1 margin – favor capitalism. Democrats are much more closely divided: Just 39% say capitalism is better while 30% prefer socialism. As for those not affiliated with either major political party, 48% say capitalism is best, and 21% opt for socialism.

MY AUNT SENT ME THIS…
A Short Paragraph by Dr. Adrian Rogers
“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”
