Obamanation

President Obama is exactly where he has wanted to be, all along: “Presiding over the DEMISE of the United States of America.”
Our pathetic (government-run) public school system and border controls have produced a voting majority that is flat-out ignorant when it comes to economics. So ignorant that they vote for politicians who make irresponsible promises and self-serving laws that punish Americans who want to make lives for themselves.
Responsibility for one’s own actions is no longer an American trait.
Because it will require that a majority of Americans understand basic economic principles in order to put our country back on track, I have lost the desire to continue posting here. I hope I am wrong, but all signs point to the end of the road for America. Sadly, the country’s problems boil down to, in layman’s terms, not knowing how to use a credit card responsibly. The only solution I see is passing of term limits, a balanced budget amendment, and the FairTax. It’s as ‘simple’ as that.

Flicking On the Lightbulb
March 26, 2011
When G.E. profits $14 billion and pays no (ZERO) income taxes for the year 2010 something is not right with our tax system. When “Its extraordinary success is based on an aggressive strategy that mixes fierce lobbying for tax breaks and innovative accounting” the shear foolishness of our current tax code is clearly demonstrated.
Just a couple of years ago in 2008, the U.S. government agreed to insure as much as $139 billion in debt for lending arm G.E. Capital Corp… because it ‘needed’ a government bailout (i.e., YOUR tax dollars).
Small business owners just might find this to be a tough pill to swallow, considering most of them fork over AT LEAST ONE THIRD OF THEIR EARNINGS to the U.S. government.
This is yet another blunt example of why a responsible overhaul of government is necessary to help turn our country around… namely, implementation of the FairTax.
If you were the person put in charge of figuring out the very best way to collect taxes in order to grow the economy, jobs, and equality among all citizens… what strategy would you take? Would you search out hundreds of the most revered experts in economics? People who have spent their careers studying the pros and cons of different economies throughout the world and the effects that taxation has had on their growth? Or would you proclaim to know it all and make decisions without their input? Congress as a whole chooses the latter, because it gives THEM and their beneficiaries (lobbyists) enormous perks. Check out the credentials of those who endorse the FairTax in this open letter to the President, Congress, and the American people.
If you haven’t read up on the FairTax, do. Understand this, it is NON PARTISAN. Democrat, Republican, Republocrat, Libertarican, WHATEVER! Be weary of the politicians, lobbyists, government-linked corporations, and any other entities with hands in the government trough, when it comes to collection of your tax dollars. Their self-serving goals depend on you being content to keep do what you are doing. So just hand over one third, bend over, and take it.
Unless you want to demonstrate that those who earn, know what’s best.
Here are just four things that the FairTax does, the benefits by no means stop here:
1. It reimburses, in advance, taxes paid up to the U.S. Census-determined poverty level for every CITIZEN of the United States. So no one pays taxes up to the poverty level. (Notice, there is no mention of illegal immigrants; they do NOT qualify for this prebate.)
2. Illegal aliens, drug dealers, tax evaders, and bailout recipients… they ALL pay their fair share in taxes… along with all consumers within our borders. Keep in mind, the FairTax does not remove any government programs (other than the I.R.S.). The FairTax is simply a new method for collecting tax dollars.
3. The FairTax is a consumption tax. It replaces the punitive, shady, 50K plus pages of rules and loopholes concerning income taxes, with a simplified tax on consumer goods and services. You keep EVERYTHING you earn. Nothing comes out of your check. You get it all. And you can invest and save, TAX FREE.
4. Since consumers ultimately pay all business taxes, it makes no sense for businesses to pay taxes to begin with. And they don’t under the FairTax. Suddenly, the United States is THE VERY BEST DESTINATION FOR DOING BUSINESS, AND HEADQUARTERING CORPORATIONS, IN THE WORLD. (Read J O B S !) And, since an estimated $11 trillion is currently invested offshore simply to avoid income taxes, most of this money, under the FairTax, will be repatriated.
The choice is yours… Either bend over and let our government and their select beneficiaries run all over you. Or stand up for your rights. Keep in mind, it’s your money. YOU earned it.

We’re producing less… Unfortunately…high gas prices … tends to increase unemployment, because companies can’t afford to stay in business…

“In contrast to (past American Presidents) Obama fails to see the United States as an exceptional nation, with a unique role in leading the free world and standing up to tyranny. In his speeches abroad he has frequently found fault with his own country, rather than projecting confidence in American greatness…
…he has adopted an apologetic tone rather than demonstrating faith in America as a shining city upon a hill, a beacon of freedom and liberty.

Big Labor, Huge Problem
January 21, 2011
Report: Philadelphia Labor Costs Drive Away Convention Business
The price of union labor at the Pennsylvania Convention Center has cost Philadelphia’s hotel industry 400,000 nights of business between 2007 and 2009, according to a new report that takes a broad look at the center’s operations, management, marketing and business plans. Labor costs were the single biggest reason for the lost business at the center during those years, the report said, with three dozen groups deciding to take their thousands of attendees elsewhere. Ahmeenah Young, convention center president and chief executive, added that the building’s existing labor structure undermines the ability to stay competitive even as the facility readies to double in size with the completion in March of a $786 million expansion. “The Gutting of Democracy” starring the 111th Congress
December 28, 2010
“The federal government has accumulated more new debt–$3.22 trillion ($3,220,103,625,307.29)—during the tenure of the 111th Congress than it did during the first 100 Congresses combined, according to official debt figures published by the U.S. Treasury.
That equals $10,429.64 in new debt for each and every one of the 308,745,538 people counted in the United States by the 2010 Census.”

Census: Growth Stronger Where Taxes Lower
December 22, 2010
…Growth tends to be stronger where taxes are lower. Seven of the nine states that do not levy an income tax grew faster than the national average. The other two, South Dakota and New Hampshire, had the fastest growth in their regions, the Midwest and New England.

$44,918 per Citizen in Debt
December 22, 2010
A family of four’s share of the National Debt is $179,672!
Four things must be done to reduce and eliminate this problem:
- Raise the level of personal responsibility among citizens (Proper Role Modeling & Education).
- Reduce the size and scope of government (Smaller & Balanced Budgets).
- Shrink entitlement programs and eliminate fraud (Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare).
- Replace our prehistoric income tax system with a competitive consumption tax system (the FairTax).
- Enforce our immigration laws (No Free Lunch).
Higher Income Taxes Equal LOWER Tax Revenues
December 21, 2010
“Oregon raised its income tax on the richest 2% of its residents last year to fix its budget hole, but now the state treasury admits it collected nearly one-third less revenue than the bean counters projected…
Congratulations. Instead of $180 million collected last year from the new tax, the state received $130 million…
If Salem officials want to find where the millionaires went, they might start the search in Texas, the state that leads the nation in job creation—and has a top income and capital gains tax rate 11 percentage points lower than Oregon’s.”
600 Billion Reasons to Audit the Fed
November 5, 2010
Voters all over the country went to the polls Tuesday, fired-up to stop the spending madness. Meanwhile the Fed announced its plans to print $600 Billion dollars out of thin air to “stimulate” the economy.
The Federal Reserve is an obscure entity, which has monumental (and arguably unwarranted) power over our economy. Yet it manages to slip in a half a trillion dollar move here and a half a trillion dollar move there, without much resistance from Americans. Why? Most Americans have no clue what the Federal Reserve does or is!
One thing is certain when you print money out of thin air. The value of the currency goes down.

10 Steps To American Prosperity
October 14, 2010
1. Integrity Reform: Enact term limits for Congress.
2. Taxation Reform: Fund the government in a way that is fair to all and encourages economic growth. Replace the 60,000 page income tax system with a simple consumption tax system. (see FairTax)
3. Immigration Reform: Enforce our immigration laws and secure the borders.
4. Healthcare Reform: Undo Obamacare, De-regulate the insurance industry to increase competition and lower rates, Enact strict tort reform guidelines to protect taxpayers from windfall jury decisions, In every department implement an auditing system that rewards the discovery of wasteful government spending and fraud.
5. Spending Reform: Enact a balanced budget amendment for the annual Congressional budget and eliminate earmarks.
6. Debt Reform: Inform the public about long term unfunded liabilities and the dangers we face if they are not addressed now. Take action now to protect future generations.
7. Education Reform: Reward school systems which place extra emphasis on civics, economics, math, and science. Increase teacher pay, decrease the number of bureaucrats. Better streamline system operations and make them transparent.
8. Trade Reform: Reduce and eliminate tariffs, encourage and promote free trade.
9. Political Reform: Adhere to basic economic principles in all policymaking.
10. Freedom Reform: Reduce the role of the federal government in the lives of Americans.

In case after case over the past century, Presidents have attempted to raise more tax revenues by raising the tax rates of the wealthiest Americans. In each case, TAX RECEIPTS DECREASED and created a host of new problems, including “less employment output, sales, profits and capital gains, all leading to LOWER payrolls and LOWER tax receipts.” Not to mention “higher unemployment, poverty, and lower incomes… require more government spending.”

Federal Stimulus 101
July 9, 2010
“Since late 2007 the federal government has spent somewhere around $3.6 trillion to stimulate the economy.
My suggestion would have been to take all $3.6 trillion and declare a federal tax holiday for 18 months. No income tax, no corporate profits tax, no capital gains tax, no estate tax, no payroll tax (FICA) either employee or employer, no Medicare or Medicaid taxes, no federal excise taxes, no tariffs, no federal taxes at all…
Can you imagine where employment would be today? How does a 2.5% unemployment rate sound?”
“Independence Day” OR “George Washington Day”
July 4, 2010
Independence Day, of course! Washington was not the type to endorse a day named after himself.
“In its highest form, heroes are those rare individuals who exercise physical, moral, and intellectual virtue far beyond the capacity of ordinary men and women. During the time of the American Founding, one hero stood out above all others: George Washington. By his example, the rest of us can see what it means to be courageous, temperate, wise, and just. Washington shows us in his actions, and teaches us in his writings, how to be a self-reliant, self-governing citizen of the freest nation on earth, and he makes clear the lengths to which citizens must be willing to go if they are to defend that freedom.”
Imagine an American President who reluctantly takes the job, with no self-interest, because he knows that he is the only man alive who has the know-how and talent to get the job done.
Cheers to George Washington! Happy Independence Day!

Focus on negligent fathers
June 18, 2010
“Unfortunately, there is an epidemic of negligence among fathers today, and consequently … the 30 percent of children who live apart from their fathers will account for 63 percent of teen suicides, 70 percent of juveniles in state-operated institutions, 71 percent of high-school dropouts, 75 percent of children in chemical-abuse centers, 80 percent of rapists, 85 percent of youths in prison, 85 percent of children who exhibit behavioral disorders, and 90 percent of homeless and runaway children,” writes Mark Alexander, publisher of The Patriot Post, in a Father’s Day essay. “The causal link between fatherless children and crime ‘is so strong that controlling for family configuration erases the relationship between race and crime and between low income and crime,’ notes social researcher Barbara Dafoe Whitehead.”

Tax Revolt 2010
February 25, 2010
If the citizens of our country truly want significant change for the better, we must demand the elimination of our 70,000 pages of federal tax law, which punishes taxpayers, businesses, and our economy year round. The benefits of a consumption tax system over our income tax system are extraordinary.
Regardless of your political tendencies, learn the facts about the FairTax. If you are against it and think you know why, rather than jump to conclusions, please read about it. About 60 members of Congress support it, but most do not primarily because the FairTax makes taxation transparent for all to understand. And the less we the people understand about the taxes that are taken from us, the more Congress can abuse the system.
Our economy is suffering. The national debt is out of control. Our unfunded liabilities are beyond comprehension. It’s not time to change the tax code. It’s time to REPLACE the tax code. Check out OnlineTaxRevolt.com and let your voice be heard on April 15th, tax day.
A Literate Voting System
December 31, 2009
In 1975 the U.S. permanently banned literacy tests for voter eligibility based on the view that literacy tests are discriminatory.
In order to vote, one need not know how to read or write (much less have any common sense). One must simply have the fortitude to be an American citizen and turn eighteen.
This would not be a problem if our school systems were producing a voter majority who understand basic principles concerning government and economics.
When our forefathers established our democracy, they did not envision our fine government requiring over 60,000 pages to explain the variety of ways it is entitled to your money. The complexity of the system means voters must be much more intelligent today than the average farmer of 200 years ago. Unfortunately, our schools produce a vastly uneducated populace that continues to vote into office a political class who make promises which either cannot be met or cause other problems that are often worse.
Add in the element that in our two party system, there is only one party that benefits from the underclass that comes out of our public school systems, and we have ourselves a real mess.
Our State of Democracy
December 24, 2009
“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.
The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:
From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage.”
-Alexander Titler (1747-1813)
Understand this, and everything fits into place.
December 19, 2009
“Economics and politics confront the same fundamental problem: What everyone wants adds up to more than there is.
Market economies deal with this problem by confronting individuals with the costs of producing what they want, and letting those individuals make their own trade-offs when presented with prices that convey those costs. That leads to self-rationing, in the light of each individual’s own circumstances and preferences.
Politics deals with the same problem by making promises that cannot be kept, or which can be kept only by creating other problems that cannot be acknowledged when the promises are made.”

Dropouts drain taxpayers…1 state, 1 year, $5 billion
December 16, 2009
Georgia’s 38,000 high school dropouts in the class of 2007 will cost taxpayers $4.8 billion over their lifetime due to costs associated with incarceration, Medicaid and other government programs, according to a new study released by the Friedman Foundation and the Georgia Public Policy Foundation.
Meanwhile, government salaries soar…
December 11, 2009
“The trend to six-figure salaries is occurring throughout the federal government, in agencies big and small, high-tech and low-tech.”
“When the recession started, the Transportation Department had only one person earning a salary of $170,000 or more. Eighteen months later, 1,690 employees had salaries above $170,000.”
“The growth in six-figure salaries has pushed the average federal worker’s pay to $71,206, compared with $40,331 in the private sector.”

“Things will never be the same
Our nation’s rush to borrow its way out of debt has more than a few economists worried. And you can bet your Euros it’s our generation that will pay for this mess. The era of “Bad credit? No problem” is over, and the luxuries we’ve taken for granted are slipping away. We’re inheriting incomprehensible debt, unsustainable social programs and leaders who think the way to fix the problem is to keep doing more of the same thing. You and I have to come to terms with the knowledge that more trouble is heading our way, and hiding from it won’t make it disappear.”

The Fate of Large, Bloated Government
June 13, 2009
When our F0unding Fathers put together our Constitution and laid out the powers of government, they had in mind a group of self-supported states, which capitalized on their regional strengths to propel their economies forward. Most power was to rest with the states, and the federal government was to restrict its involvement to matters like interstate transportation and defense.
What our Founding Fathers had in mind is NOT what exists today. And more and more Americans are realizing our country has ventured way off course.
check out Paul Starobin’s article in the WSJ…
EXCERPT:
“Consider this proposition: America of the 21st century, propelled by currents of modernity that tend to favor the little over the big, may trace a long circle back to the original small-government ideas of the American experiment. The present-day American Goliath may turn out to be a freak of a waning age of politics and economics as conducted on a super-sized scale—too large to make any rational sense in an emerging age of personal empowerment that harks back to the era of the yeoman farmer of America’s early days. The society may find blessed new life, as paradoxical as this may sound, in a return to a smaller form.”
